The naturally playful outdoor sandbox is very well designed, and blends in with your yard with its warm sandstone color and stone like facade. Making it both a fun outdoor toy for your children, as well as looking tasteful and ‘fitting’ in with your yard in ways most sand boxes do not. The sandbox itself is made of a very durable plastic, and will handle being outside year round without a problem. The lid fits snugly, and will protect the inside from pets and the elements without a problem.
The really nice thing though, is when the kids out-grow it as a sand box you wont be left stuck with a big gaudy looking blob of plastic in the yard, it converts over to being a large planter pretty nicely. Its also worth pointing out, another advantage to it being a light sandstone like color is that the colors are unlikely to fade out from being in the sun all the time, unlike with a more colorful sandbox which will fade out and start to look worn out after a relatively short time.
A few things to keep in mind though, for example the type of sand you use in the sand box. Be VERY careful about this, there have been many people who bought play sand from places like Home Depot only to realize what they are selling you is silica sand which is known to cause cancer, lung disease and a host of other health problems. So be cautious, and check the sand you buy before doing so.
If your in an area which gets heavy winds on any kind of regular basis, you may want to consider some kind of tie down securing the lid to something more stable (swings etc) so that it will not be blown away which can happen.
Other then that, this sandbox is very well made and holds up to all kinds of abuse. And there are a few other things you can do with it, like with the lid for example we filled it with water and used it as a little pool for the children. Obviously they could’nt swim around or anything, but they had a blast splashing water at each other and it helped keep them cool while they played in the outdoor sandbox .
Overall, I would surely recommend this outdoor sandbox (and have) to anyone who has small children. Its a good way to get them outside and playing rather then cooped up in the house all day.
